Die regimekritische Polit-Punk-Gruppe aus Moskau erlangte 2012 weltweite Bekanntheit mit ihrem »Punk-Gebet« in der Moskauer Christ-Erlöser-Kathedrale. Der Aktion folgte ein international stark kritisierter Gerichtsprozess, an dessen Ende drei der beteiligten Frauen zu jeweils zwei Jahren im Arbeitslager verurteilt wurden. Das Projekt »Riot Days« des Kollektivs basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Buch der Aktivistin Maria Alyokhina, in dem sie ihre persönliche Geschichte als Performerin bei Pussy Riot erzählt. Die Aufarbeitung dieser Erfahrung, das Leben in einem russischen Lager, der Kampf gegen Repression wird in diesem Stück verarbeitet und ist ein Cross-Over aus Konzert, Kundgebung und Theater. Elektrische Sounds, Sprechgesang und Live-Musik erzählen eine Geschichte von Widerstand, Repression und Revolution. (Pressetext)

Maria Alyokhina’s statement:

„If you can change something, you definitely need to start with indifference. Some political impotents assert that we have no voice and choice. We have a voice. We have a choice. We want to inspire people. We want the new actions (such as Women March). We want those who are silent, not afraid to speak. And we believe in what we would get it.
