He started his musical career at a very young age and came to live in the Netherlands in 1975, where he became a RastaFarian at the age of 20. Kendread writes his own music and lyrics. Religion, progressiveness and realism influences his lyrics.

The Warriors was the first reggae band Kendread played with. In 1985 he, together with some friendly musicians, formed The Gideons. With them he recorded the single “National Team”. In 1990 he was, together with his brother/drummer Edgar and the bassist Jahman the base on which the group called Dasjan (named after a mountain in Ethiopia) was founded. That same year Kendread joined ArtCon Music Productions, founded by Arthur Conley.

In 1991 Dasjan performed at The Grote Prijs van Nederland and made it through to the semifinals. In 1992, Kendread performed as a guest musician with the reggae formation The Creator’s from Arnhem. With them he releases the CD “Sranang lobie foe mie hatie”.

“Culture Crash” was the first CD Kendread released as a solo artist in 1993.
